J&J Financial Solutions and Technology (FST) is recruiting for a Sr. Finance Manager, EPM Operating Expense Global Process Design Lead to lead the development of the global Operating Expense process design for the future Enterprise Performance Management planning tool. This role can be based in NA, EMEA, LATAM or ASPAC.

The Sr. Finance Manager, EPM Operating Expense Global Process Design Lead will lead the development of the Operating Expense modules of the future-state planning solution. This individual will be a critical member of the Global EPM Planning Process Design leadership team. The individual will be responsible for the simplification and standardization of planning processes, via enabling EPM technology enhancements, that will drive efficiencies across planning cycles. A few examples of critical deliverables include rolling forecast implementation, integrated and connected planning, integration of statistical modeling, simplification of management reviews and optimization of the financial planning calendar.

The individual needs to approach situations and initiatives with an Enterprise mindset. Extensive knowledge of financial forecasting processes is required as the projects being led by this role and new initiatives proposed, will impact all finance employees globally who are engaged in financial planning and analysis.

This role collaborates with a global network of finance professionals to design, deploy, and manage global FP&A processes. This individual helps drive business technology alignment, consistent process deployment and adoption, rigorous process documentation, KPI measurement, and performance management in areas including budgeting and forecasting, financial planning, working capital management, strategic insight, and decision support.

This role will lead a cross-functional team comprised of various finance associates across all levels (e.g. Directors, Managers, Analysts) and across all regions to develop the global standard requirements for the Operating Expense modules for the future state enterprise planning tool.

Key Responsibilities:

EPM Program Responsibilities

  • Execute program deliverables in alignment with Integrated Planning project plan for the Operating Expense workstream
  • Active participation in EPM program governance (e.g. status updates, resource planning, integrated plan)
  • Work closely with internal, cross-functional stakeholders to drive continuous improvement and corrective actions in instances of process breakdowns.
  • Ensure Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and governance processes are in place to drive adherence to global standards.

    Planning Detailed Design Responsibilities
    • Execution of Planning scope across Operating Expense workstreams as outlined in the EPM Conceptual Design Document and EPM Scoping Framework.
      • Globally standard, driver-based model that leverages existing regional models for Labor, Headcount, and Global / Corporate Functions
      • Globally standard, sector-specific model for commissions
      • Integration with Workday, external, finance, and non-finance systems to obtain key drivers
      • Scenario modeling to assess potential changes to inputs and assumptions
      • Implementation of a rolling forecast approach to underpin the planning process, creating a consistent repeatable process that proactively identifies longer term events that may impact business performance
      • Participation in the creation of the future-state financial planning calendar with focus on minimizing management reviews to drive efficiencies in planning cycle time
      • Drive standardized, integrated and connected planning and reporting capabilities
      • Drive streamlined coordination across sectors, geographies, and functions
      • Implement use of predictive modeling to simplify the efforts to develop and analyze a baseline forecast at the start of each quarterly cycle
      • Simplification and standardization of planning processes, via enabling EPM technology enhancements, that will drive efficiencies across planning cycles
      • Utilization of strong governance to drive consistency and improve control of the planning processes including adherence to overall cycle times and timing of management reviews

        Relationship Management and Collaboration
        • Active participation and alignment with future-state EPM tool Product Owner and technical team to ensure technical builds meet process design specifications for Operating Expense build
        • Partner with change management, comms and training to ensure global process changes are adhered to and adopted by the broader organization
        • Partner with reporting and analytics and human centered design teams to ensure process enhancements are delivered in end-user-centric manner
        • Effectively partner across the EPM workstreams to ensure consistency of design and approach

          Other Responsibilities
          • Supports ad hoc requests / projects
          • Supports continuous improvement activities
          • Leads training and communications sessions across broader finance organization
          • Supports onboarding of new EPM team members
          • Ensure policies and procedures are followed
          • Develop, maintain, and deploy FP&A process documentation


            Qualifications
            • A minimum of a Bachelor's or equivalent Degree is required, preferably in Finance or Accounting
            • Advanced degrees such as a CPA, CMA or MBA/Master's and Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is preferred
              • A minimum of 8 years of finance, accounting or related business experience is required.
                Experience designing, developing, implementing, and managing FP&A processes through a global organization is required.
              • Fluent (both oral and written) in English.
              • Experience designing, developing, implementing, and managing FP&A processes through a global organization is required.
              • Change management skills and ability to work in ambiguous situations, including the ability to drive others to adapt to a changing environment is required.
              • Advanced skills in MS Office is required.
              • Excellent oral and written communication, analytical, influencing skills and ability to develop strong relationships with executive leadership team members is required.
              • The ability to partner with, influence and effectively communicate with all levels of the organization, including senior management is required
              • Foundational project management skills are required.
              • Ability to work in ambiguous situations, proactively identifying and mitigating process risks within a cross-functional, global organization and effectively lead and govern decision-making bodies is required.
              • Experience designing, developing, implementing, and managing standardized operational finance processes within a global organization is preferred.
              • Innovative and continuous improvement mindset with the ability to translate a complex business operations landscape into a streamlined process design is preferred.
              • This role can be based in NA, EMEA, LATAM or ASPAC.
              • The role may require up to 10% domestic and/or international travel.
