Johnson and Johnson is currently recruiting for a Global Finance
Director, Data Governance in New Brunswick, New Jersey.
Data is a core strategic asset for Johnson & Johnson Finance and a
critical enabler for the function. An excellent opportunity has
arisen within our Finance Data Management & Governance Organisation
for a Global Finance Director - Data Governance. Be part of a

data management capabilities! This critical enterprise role will
lead day to day run state activities to govern and steward the use
of our financial data, ensuring that data adheres to our global
data standards, that processes and policies are in place, embraced
and adhered to, delivering a one source of trusted financial truth
for use across the organization!
With a passion to work at the intersection of business and
technology and to drive innovative data governance solutions, the
successful candidate must have demonstrable experience in leading a
Data Governance Organisation, be ambitious, self motivated, with an
inquisitive and innovative approach to learn quickly and drive
immediate impactful solutions to an evolving data model. A solid
understanding of finance master data and how it is constructed in
an SAP environment, together with how data is used across the
finance function to support external and internal reporting needs
as well as financial planning capabilities is a requirement. The
ability to be successful in working within a tolerance of
ambiguity, and with past validated experiences of strong business
connections will maximise the benefits of working closely with a
wide range of dedicated business and technology teams to further
optimise the governance of our common information model.
Key Responsibilities:
* Own talent agenda to deliver best-in-class data governance
organisation to support project and run state activities, focussing
on recruitment, recognition and training initiatives, inspiring
ongoing development of the talent pipeline and future Data
Governance leaders.
* Develop and deploy Data Governance playbook in support of SigniFi
program to define and document enterprise level data standards, and
implement data design, load and master data validation activities
in line with deployment roadmaps.
* Enhance and evolve existing run state Data Governance
capabilities to govern the finance data model through tactical
deployment of key operational processes, to ensure education and
alignment to enterprise data standards, and ongoing data quality
monitoring and evaluation of continuous improvement activities.
* Partner with GS MDM to govern Finance Master Data CRUD processes,
ensuring all compliance requirements are met and appropriate
monitoring in place to ensure adherence to Common Information Model
(CIM.)
* Work closely with the FDMG and Technology partners to identify,
assess, select and implement leading technology solutions to
support the Data Governance program requirements, inclusive of
Business Product Ownership role for MDM workflow solution.
* Support cross functional data governance alignment practices
Qualifications
Education:
* Bachelor's degree is required, preferably in Finance or
Accounting. Master's degree or MBA preferred.
* Advanced certifications, such as CPA, CMA and/or Project
Management Professional (PMP) is preferred
Experience and Skills:
Required:
* A minimum of ten (10) years of finance, accounting or related
business experience is required including internal and external
reporting, familiarity with Record to Report, and financial
planning process is required.
* A minimum of 5 years of leadership experience in a data
organisation with solid understanding of Master Data Management,
Data Governance and Data Quality Competencies is required.
* Experience operating with SAP S/4HANA environment is
required.
* Operational experience including delivery of continuous
improvements
* Validated expertise in defining and documenting business process
flows, data standards, and policy definitions along with ability to
implement the policies &principles is required.
* Ability to work in ambiguous situations, proactively identifying
and mitigating process risks within a multi-functional, global
organization and effectively lead and govern decision-making bodies
is required.
* Ability to serve as a change agent to influence business
behaviours with regards to master data requirements.
* Prior experience within a fast-paced , highly complex ,
organisation with demonstrated ability to lead & co-ordinate
initiatives across a large stakeholder base to get things done
through influence versus line responsibility is required.
Preferred:
* Experience in working with SAP Central Finance, Data warehouses,
solution integration and RPA/ AI technology is preferred
* Experience working in a complex, multi-ERP / system environment
is preferred.
* Experience working within a manufacturing business is
preferred
* Experience working within healthcare/Lifesciences business is
preferred.
Other:
* This position is located in New Brunswick, NJ & may require up to
20% domestic and international travel.
