Johnson & Johnson is currently recruiting a Compensation and Benefits, Senior Financial Analyst (New Consumer Health Company). This position is located in New Brunswick, NJ and is open to candidates in New York & New Jersey.

Johnson & Johnson announced plans to separate our Consumer Health business to create a new publicly traded company.---The process of the planned separation is anticipated to be completed within 24 months, and it will be subject to legal requirements including consultation with works councils and other employee representative bodies, as required, and other customary conditions, and approvals.

It is anticipated that, following conclusion of the transaction, this position may be conveyed with New Consumer Health. In that case, details of any planned changes would be provided to the successful candidate by New Consumer Health at an appropriate time and would be subject to any necessary consultation processes.

Job Responsibilites:

  • Monitor the company's performance against adopted PSU metrics
  • Support in quarterly reporting and review of performance with the Corporate Controller and the CFO in preparation for the Board of Directors and Executive Committee reviews
  • Aid in supporting the Executive Compensation HR department and the CFO on new or amended LTI programs; efforts involve identifying appropriate metrics weightings, goal setting, and scenario planning
  • Assist in Global Benefits reporting and accounting, provide guidance to business partners worldwide on proper accounting for new plans, amendments, acquisitions, and divestitures
  • Assist in financial analysis of global post-employment plans and partner with the Benefit Investments team on contribution and investment decision making
  • Collaborate with Global Benefits on all post-employment action programs executed during a fiscal period
  • Support partnership with restructuring program PMOs on tracking and reporting versus plan
  • Support global headcount reporting and commentary for senior management
  • Assist in partnering cross-functionally with the Treasury and Global Benefits departments to incorporate ongoing business events into the Enterprise's financial results
  • Provide technical U.S. GAAP and SEC support and extend aid for accounting and disclosure issues in the preparation of consolidated financial statements
  • Provide regular project updates and explanations of complex technical accounting matters to the Manager, Compensation & Benefits
  • Periodically provide coaching and training to individuals and global organizations on technical requirements as needed
  • Interact and frame technical accounting matters with external auditors, consultants, and internal stakeholders on global post-employment benefit plans to convey global and strategic importance
  • Assist in preparing and reviewing the Company's 'Employee Related Obligation' and the Pensions and Other Benefit Plans' footnotes for the 10-Q and 10-K
  • Understand and maintain the Corporate Controller division's policy on benefits and severance accounting
  • Assist in working with the Corporate Financial Compliance & Procedures team to drive resolutions on technical accounting issues or questions consistent with internal policies and US GAAP
  • Ad hoc project work for the Corporate Controller division

    Position Requirements:

    • A minimum of a bachelor's degree with an Accounting, Finance, or other related major
    • A minimum of 2 years of finance/accounting experience is required or a minimum of 1 year of Big 4 public accounting experience is required
    • Strong analytical experience to quickly review and assess gaps in accounting/theories is required
    • Must possess knowledge of U.S. GAAP
    • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate insights into opportunities, and solid framing and communication skills
    • Strong financial analysis skills and the ability to partner with people at all levels of the organization
    • Proven ability to manage and collaborate in a matrixed environment
      Preferred Competencies:

      • CPA and/or CFA, or CMA or Chartered Accountant
      • MBA or other Finance/Accounting master's degree
      • Prior experience working on a worldwide project team including company and 3rd party participants
      • Prior experience with post-employment/post-retirement defined benefit plans
      • Demonstrated leadership and influencing outcomes with peers, management, and 3rd parties
