Primary responsibilities of the Portfolio Director, Global Credit
Finance (“GCF”) include being a key member of a team that manages a
multi-billion dollar portfolio of collateral assets comprised of
Middle Market and Broadly Syndicated Loans, both as administrative
agent and a participant lender. In this role, you will be
responsible for fundamental credit analysis of loans, collateral
asset-level approval for lender finance facilities and portfolio
management activities, including interacting with third party data
collection vendor and internal portfolio management system. You
will be part of a tight-knit deal team that provides financing
facilities to marquee private lenders, large asset managers and
sophisticated pension clients. The Portfolio Director will also
work with Clients, Sales/Distribution, Risk, Treasury and other
Stakeholders in the screening process for new client collateral
finance trade opportunities. The Portfolio Director will be based
in New York and will be part of a global team of dynamic,
hardworking, production focused team players based in Toronto, New
York, and London How You’ll Succeed: Contribute to growth in the
GCF credit financing business for our Private Credit, Asset Manager
and Pension clients. Make recommendations on pursuing new
BSL/Middle Market Private Credit loan financing mandates. Approve
or escalate credit assets for inclusion in existing facilities in
accordance with established procedures. Provide a view on initial
loan asset marking and monitor a portfolio of loans to ensure marks
remain appropriate in accordance with terms of loan documents.
Conduct more detailed fundamental credit analysis of higher risk
collateral assets. Complete periodic portfolio reviews for existing
transactions. Manage day-to-day execution of a combination of
agented loan facilities and participation facilities. Ensure
borrowers remain in compliance with terms of loan documents and
required collateral reporting is received as agreed. Remain current
on industry and economic developments to understand potential
impact on portfolio loans. Work in the spirit of transparency and
collaboration with our partners in Capital Markets Risk Management,
Treasury, Accounting, Tax and Legal. Demonstrate a keen
understanding of current and developing regulatory issues, as well
as CIBC policies, guidelines and procedures. Work effectively
within CIBC’s corporate governance practices and policies to ensure
that all potential risks are appropriately addressed and that CIBC
legal/reputational issues and shareholder objectives are covered.
Who you are: Minimum 5 years related experience in lender finance,
corporate lending, leveraged finance, corporate finance, risk
management or credit portfolio management. Working knowledge of
leveraged lending and lender finance loan structures and related
loan documentation. Familiarity with technology applications,
including Python, SQL and VBA is an asset. Familiarity with loan
warehousing and CLO structures is an asset. Familiarity with third
party vendor products for the lender finance industry is an asset.

This role operates within a normal office environment with little
exposure to adverse working conditions. Open concept trading floor
environment with exposure to noise and distractions. Often required
to work beyond normal business hours. This role may require

rewards package. This role has an expected salary range of $225,000
the New York, NY market based on experience, qualifications, and
location of the position. The successful candidate may be eligible
to participate in the relevant business unit’s incentive
compensation plan, which also may include a discretionary bonus
