Assistant Counselor Co-Op Summer Enrichment is a summer program for low income children that emphasizes STEM enrichment alongside camp programming that infuses the joy of summer into all that we do. We are hiring team members who are eager to be a part of a program that emphasizes STEM learning, mentoring connections, and summer fun! What you'll be doing You’re joining a team in a fast paced summer camp environment. Most of what you will be responsible for is listed below but roles and discrete tasks can change. At Co-Op you will do much of these tasks: Serve as a co-leader to a dedicated group of children for a five-week program that serves elementary children grades 1 to 5 Assist children to participate in STEM and recreation activities led by educators and recreation assistant coaches Teach or assist during program blocks in a variety of areas such as crafts, nature, science, sports and recreation Assist the educator with packing materials at the close of day and week so that the materials are ready for the next day or the next pod Swim with children and provide direct swimming instruction based upon training guidelines Eat lunch with your assigned group, supervise their behavior in the lunchroom and promote positive free and safe play during recess Model and enforce all Covid safety requirements at all times Enforce the highest level of safety for children at all times, including COVID safety protocols What you bring First and foremost, we are looking for someone who is warm, friendly and values teamwork. REQUIREMENTS Assistant Counselors must be at least 16 years old by July 1, 2023 Social security card and working papers (working papers are obtained at your high school) Fingerprinting for any non-Mamaroneck School District employee or any new employee (previously fingerprinted Co-Op counselors do not need to be fingerprinted again) High swimming competency Two professional or personal ( non-family ) references Proof of COVID-19 Vaccination REQUIRED PROGRAM DATES & TIMES: June 26, 2023 to August 4, 2023 8:00 A.M. to 3:30 P.M. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday 8:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M. Wednesday (weekly staff Meeting) *all program start and end times/dates subject to change until program design is complete by June 1st SALARY Base Salary - $1,320 Performance Bonus - up to $250 Re-signing Bonus - $100 for previous Co-Op Counselors if application is submitted before April 1, 2023 Base Salary paid bi-monthly in July and August (3 payments total) All bonus payments paid in the last salary check
