Closing Date: 02/28/2026 JOB GOAL : The Teacher of Public Safety is
responsible for providing high-quality instruction to high school
students regarding the methods, theories, and skills required for
careers in Law Enforcement, Fire Services, Security, and/or
Emergency Management. QUALIFICATIONS : Valid New Jersey Department
of Education Career and Technical Education (CTE) teaching
certificate(s) in specialized area of expertise or eligibility to
obtain. Instructor certifications in CPR/First Aid, Defensive
Tactics, or CERT are highly desirable. Demonstrated knowledge of
effective teaching methods and developmentally appropriate
classroom activities. Ability to break down complex legal and
technical concepts for teenage learners. Ability to maintain a
positive learning environment and inspire students to pursue public
service. Demonstrated high ethical standards, integrity, and
physical/mental discipline. Strong interpersonal and communication
skills, both verbally and written, in the English language.
Required criminal history background check and proof of U.S.
citizenship or legal resident alien status. Atlantic City Public
