Ethicon, a member of Johnson & Johnson's family of companies, is recruiting for a Research & Development Engineering Co-op/Intern to support the Wound Closure & Healing and Biosurgery business, located in Raritan, NJ. Ethicon was founded more than 80 years ago as a pioneer in suture development and manufacturing, helping to transform the safety and effectiveness of open surgery. The Ethicon business offers a broad range of products, platforms and technologies including- sutures, hemostasis products, surgical staplers, trocars, energy devices and synthetic mesh devices-that are used in a wide variety of minimally-invasive and open surgical procedures. Specialties include support for treatment of colorectal and thoracic conditions, women's health conditions, hernias, oncology, and obesity. The Ethicon R&D Co-op/Internship Program provides each student with real-life hands-on experience, coaching and mentoring, networking opportunities, as well as the opportunity to meet people from various schools throughout the country! Key Responsibilities may include some or all of the following:

• Perform hands-on laboratory work in an engineering lab
• Generate models and drawings in SolidWorks
• Conduct engineering studies including, but not limited to, developing test methods and fixtures, writing test protocols, generating final reports, and documenting meeting minutes
• Craft and evaluate prototypes
• Attend and participate in voice-of-customer (VOC) labs
• Collaborate with cross-functional departments and outside suppliers to support project related activities *The anticipated base pay for this position is between $24.00 and $32.00 but will be based on candidate's program year, discipline, degree and/or experience*
