Operations Department on the Manhattan campus is seeking a
Meintenance Mechanic to join our team! The Maintenance Mechanic
position is vital for maintaining the functionality of our
facilities and equipment. Key responsibilities typically include: ·
Performing inspections and preventative maintenance on machinery
and systems. · Replacing a retired maintenance mechanic requires a
new hire with a specific skillset and qualifications. Here's a
breakdown of the key requirements: Mechanical Skills: This includes
the ability to diagnose and repair machinery, understand mechanical
systems, and work with various hand and power tools. · Electrical
Skills: Knowledge of electrical systems, wiring, and
troubleshooting electrical issues is essential. · Plumbing Skills:
The ability to troubleshoot and repair plumbing systems is also a
valuable asset. · HVAC Knowledge: Understanding HVAC systems and
their maintenance is important in many settings. Strong
troubleshooting skills . Qualifications: Current NYC Fire
Department Certificates of Fitness HS/GED required Two years
related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of
education and experience. Mechanical, plumbing, electrical and
strong troubleshooting skills are required.
