Job Description Job Description Job Summary The Assembly
Technician – Sheet Metal supports the production of aerospace and
defense components by performing hardware installation and part
marking operations on fabricated sheet metal assemblies. This role
requires a high level of attention to detail, adherence to process
controls, and compliance with aerospace and defense quality
standards. The ideal candidate has hands-on manufacturing
experience and understands the importance of precision,
traceability, and workmanship. Essential Duties and
Responsibilities Install hardware including PEM® nuts, studs,
standoffs, and helicoils in accordance with engineering drawings,
specifications, and work instructions Perform manual and
press-installed hardware operations using approved tools and
fixtures Execute part marking and silk screening per customer,
drawing, and specification requirements Read and interpret
engineering drawings, blueprints, job travelers, and process
documentation Verify correct hardware type, size, orientation, and
torque (where applicable) Perform in-process and final visual
inspections to ensure compliance with workmanship standards
Identify and report nonconforming product, tooling issues, or
process deviations Maintain traceability and accurate production
documentation as required for aerospace and defense programs Follow
AS9100, quality, safety, and ESD procedures at all times Maintain a
clean, organized work area in accordance with 5S and safety
requirements Support cross-training and assist other departments as
production demands require Required Experience and Skills Prior
experience in sheet metal fabrication, manufacturing assembly, or
aerospace/defense production Demonstrated experience installing PEM
hardware and helicoils (preferred but not required) Ability to
accurately follow controlled work instructions and travelers Strong
attention to detail and commitment to quality and repeatability
Mechanical aptitude and good hand-eye coordination Ability to work
independently and in a team-oriented environment Basic familiarity
with inspection tools (calipers, go/no-go gauges) is a plus
Physical Requirements Ability to stand for extended periods Ability
to lift up to [insert weight, e.g., 35 lbs] Ability to perform
repetitive hand and arm movements required for assembly work Work
Environment Manufacturing environment with exposure to metal parts,
production equipment, and noise Use of required PPE and ESD
controls Compliance with ITAR and customer security requirements
may be required
