Description: This role is responsible for executing the Global Procurement Supplier Development program and fostering collaborative relationships with highly strategic suppliers that span across the Global Product Supply organization. This individual will oversee the end-to-end supplier development process including product sourcing support; early product quality planning; implementation of Global Supplier Quality and Development standards (supplier assessment/evaluation).It is key for this individual to understandthe product lifecycle process, impact on the organization (both short and long term) and knowledge of the global value chain to provide strategic industry insights and identify potential opportunities that may shorten/improve the product lifecycleandultimately lead to a BMS competitive advantage. Ultimately, it will be important for this position to align supplier quality and development procedures to category strategies to enable Global Procurement teams to achieve business objectives. Major Responsibilities and Accountabilities: - Lead/support the implementation of Supplier Development Procedures in collaboration with Category Leaders / teams to ensure continuous improvement of supplier development & quality - Oversee supplier performance monitoring including Score Card development and management - Develop an efficient issue resolution process - Improve quality levels of purchased materials to achieve quality metric goals through coordination of supplier workshops, improvement meetings, etc. - Implement processes and procedures to address supplier performance deficiencies - Manage critical supplier issues and involve the greater organization as appropriate - Ensure compliance of processes and procedures to industry / government standards and category strategies - Ensure compliance to ISO / cGMP practices and procedures and regulatory / FDA requirements - Develop supplier quality and development metrics / tools to ensure supplier performance aligns to category strategies - Advise category leaders in ensuring highest standards of excellence in category strategies across key capabilities - Assist in development of ideas that will optimize BMS total cost of ownership for spend categories, and support an emerging future pipeline of Continuous Improvement deliverables - Champion effective use of tools and technology to promote efficient delivery of procurement initiatives - Supports Total Cost of Quality / Ownership goals and initiatives to achieve cost reduction initiatives. Internal/External Stakeholders: - Internal Business Partners & Category Teams - External suppliers Qualifications: Minimum Requirements: - B.S./B.A. - Minimum of 6-8 years of business experience - Minimum of 5-6 years of multi-disciplined procurement experience or related category experience or relevant experience - Minimum of 1 year of Pharmaceutical Procurement experience, or working directly with Pharmaceutical Procurement teams or relevant experience - Experience leading and participating on cross-functional and/or global teams - Managerial experience including managing teams of senior professionals and establishing performance expectations - Internal stakeholder management, data/information management, category management, process redesign and continuous improvement expertise, project management and performance measurement skills - Procurement process knowledge, contract management, financial analysis, market analysis, supplier analysis, supplier diversity, supplier management, technology utilization, strategic planning and integrated supply chain experience Preferred Qualifications: - M.S./M.B.A./ Lean Manufacturing Experience is a plus - Professional certifications (e.g. CPM, CPIM). - 3 years Pharmaceutical Procurement experience - Membership in Professional Associations, e.g. ISM Travel is required 20% of the time (one or two nights per month) Bristol-Myers Squibb recognizes the importance of balance and flexibility in our work environment.
