Job Description:

Saint Peter's is seeking a Director of Quality Management who will oversee the development of an organizational strategy to support high-quality delivery of care to improve the health outcomes of the population served. As the Director, you will:

  • Develop and communicate the goals, objectives, and initiatives within the annual Safety, Quality, & Clinical Effectiveness Plan, aligned with system-wide strategic goals.
  • Oversee Performance Improvement Committee, Board of Governor's Quality Committee, Patient Safety Committee, and prepare complete, accurate and timely reports and summaries for committees, departments, Administration, the Medical Executive Committee and the Board of Trustees as related to the functions of the Department.
  • Maintain current knowledge pertinent to State and Federal regulation relative to Quality Management and Patient Safety, and receives and communicate federal and state information and reports provided by Quality Net Project Information; and other regulatory reports.
  • Provide direction and oversight of measure abstraction and submission of required data to CMS, The Joint Commission, NSQIP, and other programs.
  • Using internal information technology, process and analyze quality reports at the individual provider, service, and organizational levels. Review, update, and analyze measure indicator dashboards to support organizational and patient safety goals.
  • Respond to Quality of Care complaints received from Service Excellence, NJ DOH, TJC
  • Address Quality and Patient Safety events reported via incident management system (Verge), Quality Hotline and other venues and coordinate patient safety huddles, root cause analysis, FMEAs, and other related investigations in the event of a serious adverse event in conjunction with the Department of Risk, and prepares submission of required reports to NJDOH, TJC.
  • Provide support to the medical staff and medical staff office for their quality management and improve peer review activities, including but not limited to Physician Peer Review and OPPE/FPPE.
  • Assess safety culture and collaborate on action plans for: Bi-Annual Culture of Safety, High-Reliability ORO 2.0, others as needed and provides Quality and Patient Safety education for staff in conjunction with clinical leaders based on need and strategic goals
  • Manage other initiatives per the direction of Chief Medical Officer You have:
    • BSN, or Clinical Degree, Master's Preferred
    • Three (3) to five (5) years of leadership, managerial and supervisory experience.
    • Experience in project management, data analytics and physician engagement.
    • Ability to research, assess and provide verbal and written reports on projects
    • Excellent presentation skills for small and large audiences.
    • Organizational and collaborative skills to coordinate and operationalize various activities.
