Janssen Research & Development is part of the Janssen Pharmaceutical Companies.The Director, JRD Business Operations & Infrastructure Strategy will be a key advisor to the Sr. Director, JRD Business Operations & Infrastructure Strategy and the Global Head, Janssen R&D (JRD) Strategy & Operations and will serve as a key partner for the overall strategic and operational responsibility for the R&D SLT to develop future strategy as well as align for execution and implementation. Specifically, the Director, JRD Business Operations & Infrastructure Strategy will focus on delivering operational excellence related to our global R&D footprint and other major investments. This will include working to effectively optimize our current R&D footprint as well as lead the potential development of new R&D facilities in strong partnership with J&J stakeholders. In addition, this individual will lead and support efforts to develop cross-R&D strategies in areas of significant internal and/or external R&D investments including IT, EH&S and Procurement. This individual will shape our culture and will also help the Janssen R&D organization live into our Credo by ensuring a positive environment for our employees and having a positive connection with our communities.Key Responsibilities:Strategy Development and Execution You will work closely with the team to complete specific critical initiatives that will deliver the long-term Janssen Pharm R&D strategy Conduct sophisticated analytics and qualitative assessment to deliver insight Integrate input from functions in Janssen and J&J outside of R&D: Innovation Centers, Global Operations, PMO, finance and others Ensure collaboration and alignment with partners for successful execution Consolidate input from across the therapeutic areas and functional areas to ensure that all views are represented Gain and incorporate deep external insights on the long-term view of healthcare and the pharmaceutical industryStrategic Leadership You will partner to deliver short-term execution on long-term strategic priorities while taking long-term strategy view and defining key near- and mid-term deliverables and results Lead / launch key growth and acceleration projects with the objective of helping translate thoughts into actions and actions into results Give strategic feedback and operational expertise to R&D management reviews, including scenario development, trade-off implications and the evaluation / assessment of capital investment opportunitiesQualifications A Master's degree in business (e.g., MBA) or scientific field with a minimum of 10 years of experience pharmaceutical R&D environment required Project management experience required Project Management Professional Certification preferred Experience supporting major change initiatives in pharmaceutical R&D organizations in a strategic role required Experience in the analysis and synthesis of complex data, including financial and operational data and metrics preferred Ability to interpret data to inform action plans to improve performance preferred Experience in assessing technology, market environment, and R&D process requirements to optimally drive efficiency, strategy optimization, and process improvements preferred Ability to travel 25%, domestic and globalAt Johnson & Johnson, we're on a mission to change the trajectory of health for humanity.
