Job Description:Mazars in U.S. is hiring - If you are looking for a career where you can truly have a say, make an impact, and be valued, then Mazars is the right place for you!Our Insurance Tax practice seeks an accomplished Tax professional with strong technical skills who excels in client deliverables, exhibits strong leadership capabilties, has a passion for the public accounting profession, and is well-versed in Insurance taxation (P&C, Life) compliance and advisory matters, to join our firm's National Insurance Tax team as a Senior Manager. In this position you will be responsible for utilizing your technical skills and experience to provide support and technical guidance in the areas of insurance taxation (Property & Casualty and Life) to our valued clients in the Insurance market. You will collaborate with and assist in the professional development of other tax team members. You will also participate alongside the Insurance Practice Leader with client proposals and new business development opportunities.This is a national practice. The position can take place in any of our Mazars U.S. office locations. Our firm also offers remote working.What You Will Do:Demonstrate strong technical knowledge of both Property & Casualty and Life Insurance taxation experience, as well as some captive insurance tax experience, including tax planning, consulting, and compliance activitiesReview of the clients' ASC740 income tax provision, for both GAAP and SSAP 101 (for statutory accounting activities)Research tax-related issues involved in any federal, state or local tax planning projects that impact our clientsRecognize, anticipate, and resolve tax-related issues and make recommendations that will be beneficial to clients' business and tax liabilitiesCommunicate with the IRS and other applicable tax authorities on behalf of clients' tax mattersServe as a representative of our clients for any possible tax-related audits that may occurConduct appropriate tax research using CCH Axcess, RIA Checkpoint, IntelliConnect or Bloomberg Law LibrarySupervise and review the work of other tax professionals assigned to client engagementsReview and maintain engagement budgets throughout all client assignmentsDevelop and maintain meaningful client relationshipsAssist the Insurance Tax Leader on client proposals and new business development opportunitiesStay current on technical and industry developments and standards, while evaluating potential impacts on clients' businessWhat We Seek:Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting or a Business-related field of studyAn advanced Tax degree (MST, LLM, JD) is preferredCPA, EA or JD is required8+ years of relevant tax experience in a CPA firm, a professional services firm, a tax consulting practice or large insurance tax departmentStrong tax planning, compliance and analysis experienceDemonstrated success managing multiple engagements simultaneouslyWorking knowledge of ASC740 for GAAP and SSAP 101 statutory accountingExcellent tax research skillsProficient with use of CCH Axcess, GoRS and other tax-related software and technology programsProficient with the use of Microsoft Office Suite toolsExcellent interpersonal and communication skills (both oral and written)Excellent analytical and organizational skillsStrong leadership, mentoring and staff development skillsAbility to travel to client locations when neededAuthorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorshipWhat We Offer:Competitive base salary and incentive compensation planA comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental and life insurance plans, a generous paid days' off (PDO) plan, and a competitive 401k planA dynamic, diverse work experience in a growing global organizationAn inclusive, client-centered environment where you can develop new skills, enhance your overall business knowledge and work with world-class professionalsIntensive customized training, including in-house leadership development programs, continuing professional education courses, and both classroom and on-the-job trainingOpportunity for International Mobility experiences are also made availableWho We Are:Mazars in the U.S. is an independent member firm of Mazars Group, an international audit, tax and advisory organization with operations in over 90 countries.
