Global Precision Medicine, Global Commercial Strategy Organization
(GCSO) , to lead the way as we build a world-class portfolio of
precision medicine assets and execute on highly successful
commercial launches. The position is based in Raritan, NJ and will

Global Precision Medicine will be a deep expert in Precision
Medicine and will have global commercial strategy responsibilities
end-to-end across Janssen and will cover all Janssen therapeutic
areas. As we realize the rapidly increasing potential of precision
medicine enabled medicines to directly impact millions of patients,
building world-class global precision medicine capabilities and
teams for Janssen will be a key differentiator to our business
growth in the coming years. The VP Global Precision Medicine will
be a member of the Global Commercial Data Science (GCDS) Department
and will lead the creation and execution of robust precision
medicine commercial and medical/scientific strategies, creating an
industry leading global precision medicine capability and talent
network. This individual will work closely with the Chief
Commercial Data Science Officer, World-Wide Therapeutic Area VPs,
the Chief Global Medical Affairs Officer, the Chief Market Access
and Pricing Officer, and other senior leaders in GCSO to drive our
precision medicine portfolio transformation and optimize our global
go-to-market (GTM) launch planning strategies. They will also
ensure close R&D, Regional Business and Janssen Business
Development (JBD) alignment to ensure that innovative and highly
strategic decisions and investments in precision medicine are made
from end-to-end. The VP Global Precision Medicine will work in
close partnership with the R&D VP Oncology Diagnostics and
Precision Medicine, VP Precision Medicine and Enabling Technology
(JBD), VP Global Data Science, VP Global RWE, VP Global Data,
Platforms and Partnerships, VP Global Digital Health, Regional
Precision Medicine Leaders, senior global and regional Commercial
and Medical Affairs leaders, and other key functional areas such as
Legal, J&J Technology and Global Regulatory Affairs, to
co-create and execute on global precision medicine strategies. The
position will also be accountable for developing, participating,
and/or co-Chairing Steering and Executive Committees for major
strategic external diagnostics partnerships. The candidate will
also be recognized internally and externally as a leader in
precision medicine based on a solid track record of appearances and
interviews at the national and international level. The VP Global
Precision Medicine will lead all strategy and execution of
companion and complementary diagnostics (CoDx) for all Therapeutic
Areas (TA's) and all aspects of global commercialization (project
evaluation, commercialization, medical/scientific strategy,
partnerships, launch planning) for all global markets. Specific
areas of responsibility include: --- Be the primary representative
to drive our Global Precision Medicine strategy for GCSO across
Global Commercial, Regional Businesses, R&D, JBD, and all
Enterprise Functions, including direct interactions with GOC
members including Global Commercial and Regional Company Group
Chairs, Head of R&D and Head of JBD --- Find efficiencies and
opportunities to accelerate and maximize the impact of our GTM
strategies by working closely with all regional businesses and
driving those learnings earlier into R&D and GCSO GTM planning
efforts --- Identify and lead efforts to innovate and advance our
global commercial model by adopting and establishing industry best
practices for competitive advantage with new product launches that
are enabled by CoDx --- Provide overall global commercial and
medical/scientific strategy leadership and direction to direct
report team and to regional CoDx leaders --- Demonstrate
outstanding leadership by coaching, inspiring and developing the
Precision Medicine Team, and others across the organization, to
create a highly-functioning team environment that is recognized
inside and outside the company --- Chair the Janssen Global
Commercial Precision Medicine Steering Committee --- Lead and
develop a world-class Precision Medicine Department with experts in
precision medicine strategy, partnerships/alliances and CoDx market
access needs --- Lead development and execution of CoDx strategy
across all of Janssen and ensure integration with Therapeutic Area
and Disease Area Stronghold strategies --- Create and lead
commercial CoDx process development, governance and oversight ---
Serve as commercial leader on Oncology CoDx Leadership Team and
others, or delegate, as needed --- Lead cross-TA strategies and
non-asset strategies for CoDx e.g., non-asset disease level
strategies --- Lead development of CoDx policy positions and
provide input and direction for specific global CoDx policy
initiatives --- Develop and implement consistent processes and
models for identifying and evaluating CoDx opportunities ---
Develop and implement consistent processes for identifying,
assessing and selecting CoDx Development and commercialization
partners --- Identify and lead the establishment of strategic
Commercial partnerships including representation on Joint Steering
Committees for external collaborations and partnerships --- Develop
and implement launch readiness framework to ensure consistent and
comprehensive CoDx launch plans --- Lead CoDx commercial
assessments for licensing, business development in established and
white space opportunity areas --- Chair periodic Janssen Global
Precision Medicine Summits and internal Community of Practice Teams
with senior internal stakeholders, ensure development of regional
and local capabilities and processes to successfully launch
precision medicine assets --- Act as a key interface with Global
Commercial Strategy Leadership, R&D, JBD, Regional and
Operating Company commercial leadership and establish partnerships
with key Janssen stakeholders across the globe to foster the
understanding of CoDx and ensure development of required
capabilities for short and long term success --- Interact with and
influence senior leadership across Janssen and J&J on
opportunities and investments in precision medicine that will
provide key differentiation for our business growth --- Drive
commercial strategies with other GCSO and Janssen leaders by
understanding how to create a competitive advantage through
strategic precision medicine investments --- Establish precision
medicine transformation strategic (3-5 year) goals with appropriate
objectives and milestones to drive progress towards the goals ---
Educate the organization on emerging precision medicine trends,
opportunities, competitive threats, and new technologies that can
continue to differentiate the company --- Develop an integrated and
actionable global commercial strategy for precision medicine to
support the pharmaceutical portfolio, in a highly collaborative
manner with other key partners, including creation of a framework
that defines when, where, how, and why precision medicine
investments should be made --- Collaboratively refine and create an
effective global precision medicine commercialization strategy and
process that considers both internal and external
commercialization. Associate measurable outcomes to strategy,
including those relevant for adoption, scale, and market share ---
Leverage the strategy to optimize the pipeline of precision
medicine initiatives to achieve company priorities, while taking
finite resources into account (i.e., link precision medicine to
pharmaceutical business strategy) --- Monitor and analyze
healthcare systems, policies, and regulations across markets to
identify opportunities, challenges, and potential risks ---
Contribute to shaping integrated evidence generation strategies
(IEGPs) to generate robust and comprehensive evidence supporting
the value and effectiveness of precision medicine interventions. In
addition, directly or through the team the VP Global Precision
Medicine will: --- Lead commercial and medical/scientific precision
medicine strategy assessment and recommendations for specific CoDx
opportunities --- Direct and participate in licensing and external
CoDx partnership opportunities --- Ensure Commercial input to shape
system and assay design requirements, commercial support
requirements, medical/scientific development strategy and
regulatory strategy for CoDx projects --- Develop and ensure
execution of CoDx Commercial strategy ensuring alignment between
CoDx partner and product brand strategy for CoDx projects in full
development --- Develop and ensure execution of CoDx
Medical/Scientific strategy ensuring alignment between CoDx partner
and product medical and scientific affairs strategy for CoDx
projects in full development --- Develop and implement precision
medicine aspects of Global Launch plans for CoDx assets in full
development, including trademark and branding, positioning,
messaging, go to market (selling) strategies, market develop plans,
access plans and customer support plans --- Provide senior
commercial leadership on project teams; obtain endorsement and
resources as necessary --- Foster partnerships with key Janssen
stakeholders across the globe, to ensure alignment of strategies
and plans for specific CoDx opportunities --- Direct the
development of the short and long term plans and budgets to support
CoDx projects --- Lead life cycle management and global issues
management for in-market CoDx opportunities --- Further expand the
internal Janssen/J&J knowledge in precision medicine and best
practice sharing --- Contribute to refining governance processes
and contribute to local and global standards in methodologies ---
Contribute to develop and execute a comprehensive data strategy for
precision medicine initiatives, encompassing data collection,
integration, analysis, and utilization to drive insights and
decision-making
