Job Overview:The AVP of Logistics is responsible for the
leadership and function of the departments for overall quality of
care delivered through the hospital organization. This leader will
oversee the development, implementation and oversight of efforts,
planning, organizing, and monitoring of all operations of Bed
Management.Qualifications:Required:
Master s Degree in Business
Administration, Health Administration, or Public Administration
Experience working in an Acute Care facilityPreferred:
Accounting or Legal BackgroundMinimum
of ten years successful senior healthcare management and financial
leadership experience, preferably within an academic medical
centerDemonstrated experience in effectively managing all aspects
of clinical operations with particular experience with financial
performance in a complex matrixed healthcare
organizationDemonstrated experience developing and implementing
strategic business opportunities that produce new and continuing
sources of revenue for the HospitalDemonstrated experience
delivering exceptional quality and financial
performanceDemonstrated interpersonal and communication
skills.Demonstrated coaching and mentoring skills to effectively
develop subordinatesParticipates with leaders from the governing
body, management, medical staff, and clinical areas in planning,
promoting and conducting organization wide performance improvement
activitiesContinuously assess and improves the division s
performanceAllocates adequate resources for measuring, assessing
and improving the hospital s performanceEssential Functions:
Supports the systems overall mission
of patient care, community outreach, research and educationTakes a
leadership role in the development of patient care programs,
policies, and procedures that describe how patients nursing care
needs are assessed, evaluated and met
Participates in the development and
implementation of the plan for providing nursing care to those
patients requiring nursing care, applying the knowledge and skills
necessary to make decisions regarding provision of care appropriate
to the ages of the patients served, i.e., infant, pediatric,
adolescent, adult and geriatricGathers, assesses and acts on
information regarding patient and family satisfaction in planning
and designing servicesParticipates in the decision-making
structures and processes with leaders from the governing body,
management, medical staff, and clinical areasWorks with the
President, members of management and he medical staff to develop
and implement institutional strategy, and to develop and achieve
fiscally responsible operational performance objectivesParticipates
with leaders from the governing body, management, medical staff,
and clinical areas in planning, promoting and conducting
organization wide performance improvement activitiesResponsible for
implementing an effective and ongoing program to monitor, evaluate,
and improve the quality of care delivered to patients for the areas
of responsibilityResponsible for coordinating all business
operations, including financial activities for the effective
management and operation of the hospitalIn conjunction with the
Vice President, will led the development of new business, including
joint ventures, to maximize funding opportunities to sustain and
build the programs of the site hospitalEngages in strategic
planning for associated programs and departments and coordinates
related activities of the Vice President s officeProvides expert
counsel regarding clinical operations and strategies for its growth
and development and is responsible for the development,
interpretation, coordination and administration of policies on
business and clinical operations, nursing, social work, pharmacy,
hospital networks and managed care and contractingServes as a key
member of the executive leadership team and will attend the
meetings of the Joint Management council and the Operations
committee on a regular basisWorks closely with the executive and
senior leadership team in the broader areas of planning and
developmentBuilds a positive and trusting relationship with the
provider staff physicians, nurses, and other medical
professionalsAssumes leadership in assessing the current state of
the hospital s clinical revenue cycle to determine potential
