SAS has a membership of over 2,000 permanent and temporary faculty (instructional and research), teaching and graduate assistants, part-time lecturers, and post-doctoral appointees, and over 500 administrative staff. Arts and Sciences delivers a wide array of services in support of the teaching, research, and service missions of the School. Posting Summary Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Business Manager III (BM III) for the SAS- Dean's Office. This position reports to the SAS Office of Business Affairs Business Manager II. The BM III independently manages financial planning, analysis and administration of the all aspects of the operating and externally funded budgets for assigned SAS academic units. This position performs professional work requiring knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and practices (GAAP), and a good understanding and application of concepts, theories, principles, practices, terminology and applied accounting. Among the key duties of this position are the following: Oversees the administration of and performs periodic audits of all accounts (which includes: operating, designated, auxiliary, restricted, etc.) for all assigned units. Responsible for coordination of tracking, funds transfers and proper utilization of salary and operating budgets. Monitors accounts, identifies and resolves problems as needed. Ensures the proper administration of business activities within University guidelines and acts as a liaison to ensure the integration of these activities with corresponding functions at the departmental and University levels. Also requires a minimum of five (5) years relevant professional experience in an administrative, management or budgetary function. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Excellent communication and organization skills Strong computer literacy Ability to handle multiple responsibilities Ability to work independently Use of personal vehicle in order to travel for business demands; a valid driver's license would be required for this position.
