Emergency Medicine - Physician at Lewis Katz School of Medicine
at Temple University - Temple Health summary: This fellowship
position offers board certified or eligible emergency medicine
physicians a one-year research-focused training in emergency
department operations, administration, and leadership within an
academic setting. Candidates will engage in collaborative
translational research projects, develop specialized expertise, and
work clinically in an emergency department setting. The program
provides resources for independent research career development and
mentorship at partnering academic institutions. The Department of
Emergency Medicine at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine is excited
to announce a search for a board certified or board eligible
emergency medicine physician for a one-year non-accredited
fellowship in Emergency Department Research. The Fellowship
curriculum is designed to prepare fellows with the research
training and skills in research operations and administration
necessary to excel in a leadership role within an academic
emergency department immediately upon graduation. The incumbent
will: • Develop a specific area of expertise and emergency medicine
research focus. • Develop knowledge and skills related to research
collaboration and communication within a translational research
environment. • Develop skills needed to successfully assume more
complex, high-level leadership roles within emergency departments,
medical schools and hospital systems as their career progresses.
The Department of Emergency Medicine has an extensive research
portfolio with a wide range of research areas including emergency
ultrasound; acute neurological illness and injury such as acute
stroke, status epilepticus, and traumatic brain injury; critical
illness; and emerging infectious diseases. The Research Fellow will
work closely with a core group of established investigators and a
team of coordinators in the Department. In addition, funding and
resources are available to develop pilot projects and obtain the
necessary skills to establish an independent research career. In
addition, the Research Fellow will have the opportunity to work
directly with research mentors at partner academic institutions
(University of Pennsylvania, Cooper Medical Center, University of
Maryland/Shock Trauma) if interested. Finally, the Research Fellow
will work 720 clinical hours in a Temple Health Emergency

click here. Candidate Qualifications: • Completion of an ACGME
Emergency Medicine Residency training program • Board Eligible or
Board Certified in Emergency Medicine Procedure for Candidacy In
