Description American Traveler is hiring an Interventional Radiology
Technologist for a Special Procedures unit, requiring 3-5 years of
IR or cardiovascular tech experience and an active NJ radiographic
license. Details - Hospital-based Interventional Radiology Special
Procedures unit - Procedures include complex diagnostic and
interventional vascular and neuro-interventional cases - Uses floor
and ceiling-mounted fluoroscopic modality machines, power injectors
for iodinated contrast media, and Sectra/PACS imaging system -
Charting performed in Epic EMR - Schedule is 8-hour shifts, 5 days
per week (Mon–Fri), with hours spanning 7:00 AM–8:00 PM on a flexed
schedule - 40 hours per week - May be required to float to a nearby
sister hospital Requirements - 3–5 years of experience as an
Interventional Radiologic Technologist or Cardiovascular
Technologist (CVT) with NJ radiographic licensure - Active NJ
Radiographic License required; license required if applicable -
Current ARRT (R) certification required - BLS certification from
the American Heart Association (AHA) with skills demonstration
required - High school diploma/GED and an Associate degree, or
completion of an accredited radiographic program - Must possess NJ
radiographic licensure to operate x-ray fluoroscopic modalities —
CVT experience alone is not sufficient - Candidates must reside
more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible - 2
professional references required for consideration Additional
Information - Responsibilities include scrubbing side-by-side with
specialty proceduralists during complex vascular and
neuro-interventional cases - Must be able to identify, retrieve,
and circulate complex products during interventional procedures -
Responsible for setting up and maintaining sterile procedural trays
and upholding infection prevention protocols - Performs groin
management post-intervention - Collaborates within a
multidisciplinary team including nurses, radiologists, and vascular
surgeons - Strong closed-loop communication skills and critical
thinking during complex cases are essential - Must be comfortable
