Brunswick is seeking a full time Hospitalist to join our Oncology
Division with Rutgers Cancer Institute of NJ ( CINJ ), the state’s
only NCI -designated Comprehensive Cancer Center and Rutgers-Robert
Wood Johnson Medical School, The State University of New Jersey. In
this position, the hospitalist with manage primarily oncology
patients on our solid oncology and liquid oncology services with
close collaboration with the oncologists who practice at CINJ .
Through the well-established, multidisciplinary team the overall
goal it to have close collaboration with the outpatient oncology
practices for patients who require the acute inpatient level of
care. The hospitalist with engage in the inpatient care, assist
with the transitions of care back to the ambulatory setting, and
work closely with the surgical and medical oncologic support staff,
inclusive of advanced practice providers. Ideal candidates will be
joining this busy and growing practice as we look towards expansion
in the oncologic care that service the states only NCI -designated
Comprehensive Cancer Center. A core function of the hospitalists
will be to support the team-based approach, inclusive of
communication with case managers, social workers, bed managers and
ensure appropriate patience centered transitions of care. In
addition, the candidate will work closely with the palliative care
teams to assist in the patient and family communications and care
planning. In addition to clinical care, the academic institution
and collaboration with Robert Wood Johnson Medical School allows
the unique opportunities to engage in clinical and research
programs, clinical trials research, cancer chemoprevention,
clinical and basic pharmacology, novel cell therapy constructs, and
participation in a broad range of teaching initiatives. Overview
The Department of Medicine at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical
School is comprised of approximately 150 paid and more than 300
volunteer faculty members organized into 11 divisions covering the
major medical subspecialties: Allergy, Immunology and Infectious
Diseases; Cardiovascular Diseases and Hypertension; Education;
Endocrinology, Metabolism and Nutrition; Gastroenterology and
Hepatology; General Internal Medicine; Hematology; Medical
Oncology; Nephrology; Pulmonary Disease and Critical Care Medicine;
and Rheumatology. The Department’s clinical mission encompasses
inpatient and ambulatory care settings at Robert Wood Johnson
University Hospital (the primary teaching hospital of the medical
