Job Description:

We are seeking a Physician Assistant with thoracic surgery experience for locum coverage in Connecticut. This role includes first assisting in the OR, inpatient management, and outpatient follow-up within a collaborative thoracic surgery team.

Assignment Details:

• Start: Late July 2026
• Coverage for FMLA leave
• 3 4 days per week

Schedule:

• 10-hour shifts
• Minimal call expected

Practice Setting:

• Hospital-based thoracic surgery coverage
• Multi-site coverage within one health system
• Mix of OR, inpatient, and clinic responsibilities

Work Details:

• First assist in thoracic surgery procedures
• Inpatient rounding, admissions, and discharges
• Office/clinic patient visits

Case Mix:

• Thoracic (non-cardiac) surgery
• Minimally invasive thoracic procedures
• Robotic-assisted surgery
• Lung surgery
• Some foregut procedures

Requirements:

• Physician Assistant required
• Thoracic (non-cardiac) surgery experience required
• Robotic surgery experience required
• Flu vaccination required

Additional Notes:

• Majority minimally invasive surgical cases
• Collaborative thoracic surgery team environment
