SALARY RANGE

SF Bay Area 140,000 - 204,000 USD per year

YOUR JOB

The Enterprise Jobs team is working to create a centralized jobs platform that will scale to meet hiring needs of Enterprise employers for the next 10+ years. This platform will power employer products across the company and scale to meet the traffic needs of all employers visiting our site to manage their jobs and candidates on a daily basis. This is a unique opportunity to work with product development teams across Indeed to understand business use cases and redefine what a job is. Are you passionate about architecting scalable systems with APIs that empower developers? Do you enjoy untangling legacy systems and working with internal stakeholders to define business requirements? Do you have a knack for data modeling? We're seeking a backend software engineer to join our team to help us scale to meet Enterprise hiring needs.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Collaborate with designers, product managers, subject matter experts, and other engineers across Indeed.

- Build a distributed, scalable employer jobs platform in Java with business intelligence for frictionless client integrations using REST, GraphQL, and other technologies.
- Continually improve our technical stack and processes.
- Maintain existing tools and infrastructure as necessary.

WHO YOU ARE

You should possess a mix of technical and business strength, with strong initiative, ownership, and follow-through. You are driven and motivated to design and build best-in-class APIs that abstract away complexities from other developers. You have strong communication skills, can work well in a distributed team model, and have a growth mindset.

WE'RE LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WHO:

- Has experience developing software for large scale distributed systems running in Java.

- Has experience with API design in various protocols (gRPC, REST, GraphQL, etc.)
- Has experience with a breadth of backend architecture principles and technologies.
- Has experience with a breadth of data platforms such as MySQL, Elastic Search, and Spark.
- Thinks about WHY something needs to be built, not just what needs to be built.
- Loves to learn and develop new skills continuously.
- Takes initiative to understand, measure, and solve the most important business problems with holistic and sustainable solutions.

REQUIREMENTS:

- BS or MS in Computer Science (or equivalent).

- Demonstrated ability to develop backend software applications.
- Excellent collaboration and interpersonal skills.

SALARY RANGE DISCLAIMER

The base salary range represents the low and high end of the Indeed salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Indeed's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include quarterly bonuses, Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), an open Paid Time Off policy, and many region-specific benefits.
