Job Description:
Trusts & Estates Paralegal Location: New York, NY (3 days
in-office) Classification: Non-Exempt Work Schedule: Hybrid – 3
days onsite, 2 days remote We are seeking a highly experienced and
agile Trusts & Estates Paralegal to join our team in New York. This
role requires someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, has
deep experience in all phases of estate and trust administration,
and can seamlessly support multiple attorneys with varying needs
and personalities. What You’ll Do: Handle probate and estate
administration from start to finish, including preparing and filing
petitions Prepare IRS Form 706 and NY Form ET-706 , and coordinate
supporting documentation Draft legal documents such as Receipts and
Releases , LLC formation documents , and deeds Obtain EINs , open
estate and trust bank accounts , and prepare required documentation
for brokerage transfers and vehicle title changes Communicate with
clients regarding estate matters, including difficult conversations
around tax obligations Order and compile date-of-death valuations
for various estate assets Manage and prioritize constant requests
from multiple attorneys Support ongoing tasks with professionalism,
discretion, and a client-service mindset What You’ll Bring: Minimum
5 years of experience as a Trusts & Estates Paralegal in a law firm
setting Strong working knowledge of probate procedures and
Surrogate’s Court filings Proficiency in preparing federal and
state estate tax returns (Form 706, ET-706) Experience drafting
basic estate and trust documents, forming entities (LLCs), and
preparing deeds Confidence to handle sensitive family and tax
conversations with empathy and clarity Ability to juggle competing
priorities from multiple attorneys while maintaining high-quality
work Exceptional communication, organization, and multitasking
skills Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and legal document
management systems Bachelor's degree and/or Paralegal Certificate
