Clinical partners include Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, University Hospital in Newark, and other affiliates.Through this community of healers, scientists, and scholars, Rutgers is equipped as never before to transform lives.Rutgers RBHS is an anchor institution that boasts locations in Newark, New Jersey, a city of promise.Posting SummaryRutgers, the State University of New Jersey is seeking a motivated Research Assistant (per diem) for the Franois-Xavier Bagnoud Center (FXB Center) within the Rutgers School of Nursing. The primary purpose of the Research Assistant position is to provide support for the coordination and evaluation needs of the HRSA-funded Special Project of National Significance (SPNS) Project: Improving STI Testing and Treatment among People Living with and at Risk for HIV. This position is ideal for a candidate with interest in HIV and/or sexually transmitted infections.Among the key duties of this position are the following:

  • Monitors data quality per intervention protocols and multi-site evaluation plan.
  • Assists with data downloads, entry and management (e.g., cleaning and re-coding) to prepare for data analyses.
  • Facilitates data collection through surveys, questionnaires, interviews, focus groups, chart reviews and other sources.
  • In collaboration with the Principal Investigator, Research Evaluator, and Statistician, summarizes and analyzes data.
  • Assists in compiling quantitative and qualitative research findings and presenting results with appropriate summary conclusions for the preparation of manuscripts, presentations, and proposals.
  • Completes literature reviews, as needed

    • Masters degree in a relevant social, medical science or biomedical, plus two (2) years of experience in a public health-related research environment is required.Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
      • Intermediate proficiency with data management systems, health informatics and SPSS (data management and analyses) is essential.
      • Comfort with preforming tasks at various levels of complexity (from literature searches to data entry, to grant proposal writing assistance and study coordination) is essential.Preferred Qualifications
        • Experience and comfort in working with various types of collaborators is preferred, including academics, community-based partners, medical/healthcare cadre, and members of various minority groups including sexual and gender minorities.
        • A PhD/DrPH student in social sciences, public health, or related field is highly desired.
        • Familiarity with NVivo is a plus.Special Conditions
