Johnson & Johnson Global Public Health is recruiting for a Global Medical Affairs Leader (GMAL), Vaccines to be based remotely in the United States or Europe. The Global Medical Affairs Leader (GMAL) for Vaccines will provide medical and strategic leadership within the Global Public Health (GPH) group from pre-launch through the lifecycle of assigned vaccine product (COVID, HIV and/or Ebola). He/she will develop GPH medical perspectives, strategies, and will own the execution of medical plans in partnership with global, regional and country medical teams.As an integral member of the Vaccines Access Strategy and Impact team, he/she will be accountable for the execution of the global medical affairs plan that reflects prioritized GPH needs and in alignment with the overall global plans. In addition, the GMAL will be accountable for the GPH scientific publications plans, opinion leader relations including National Immunization Technical Advisory Groups (NITAGs) and other normative agencies, medical education, and advisory boards. The GMAL will also facilitate and ensure a consistent approach to Medical Affairs processes across J&J/Janssen.Key Responsibilities:Develop GPH vaccines medical affairs strategies and plans based on priority GPH needs in partnership with business partners across J&JCollaborate with appropriate governance team(s) as well as with the Africa Implementation and Impact team to ensure that GPH vaccine strategies and plans are fully coordinated with the global strategyProvides medical and public health insights into activities related to planning, execution and reporting post-marketing studies/post-licensure research and vaccine effectiveness studies while ensuring timely delivery.Responsible for scientific engagement activities such as advisory boards, symposia and congress activities.Lead all aspects of GPH vaccines publications planning and execution(manuscripts, abstracts, and posters)Lead thought-leader communications and speaker development for vaccines in the GPH landscape.Develop and participate in the review of presentation materials for studies, advisory boards, investigator meetings, protocol training meetings as the need arises, and act as contact point for assigned medical affairs-led studiesProvide ongoing review of assigned clinical study data, final analysis and interpretation, in collaboration with the relevant global teamsResponsible to ensuring that all activities follow J&J Compliance principles, e.g., Health Care Compliance, etc.QualificationsEducation:M.D. is required with experience and/or specialty training in vaccinology or infectious diseases or public health (e.g., MPH) preferredExperience and Skills:Required:A minimum of 5 years of combined relevant experience in a medical/clinical environment and/or scientific function in the pharmaceutical industry is required, with at least 2 years in the Medical Affairs highly preferredA consistent track record leading highly cross-functional work environments is required.Experience in the pharmaceutical industry in a Medical Affairs and/or clinical R&D function.Champion high standards of compliance, ethics and patient safety, and putting patients at the center of all actionsPreferred:Experience working with national immunization programs or their equivalentProven track record to partner cross- culturally/regionallyUnderstanding of clinical research methodology, study data reviews and analysisExcellent knowledge of study execution including safety management and regulatory requirementsAbility to navigate a complex and evolving environment and effectively resolve issuesExperience developing and maintaining relationships with thought or opinion leaders.Johnson & Johnson is an Affirmative Action and Equal Opportunity Employer.
