The successful candidate will be someone who has exprience working with children and psych/behaviorl health and will be a Psych APN, LCSW or Licensed Psychologist,or an RN expeirenced with pediatric behavioral health. We are unable to hire a new grad at this time.

Job Summary

Clinician who has demonstrated competence in directing and managing the inpatient milieu with focus on psychiatric and/or behavioral health. Works, in collaboration within the inpatient milieu, to ensure cooperation, safety, and a successful rehabilitation experience of patients and families.

Provides support and education on a range of topics as indicated by staff need to team members in nursing/medical treatment and therapy

This role could be held by a Nurse, Psychologist or Licensed Clinical Social Worker.

If a Nurse:

Current NJ licensure as RN required

If a Social Worker:

Licensed Clinical Social Worker required

If a Psychologist:

Licensed Psychologist (PhD, PsyD or EdD) required.

Valid driver s license

Essential Job Functions

Assists the full Rehab team in promoting patient behavior compliance and treatment adherence through discussion, active problem solving, modeling and direct provision of patient care

Demonstrates high degree of skill in communication and positive interaction with staff, promotes teamwork and cooperation. Collaborates with all members of the health care team.

Provides direct crisis intervention services to patients in crisis and ensures that the appropriate interventions are used as evidenced by observation of staff during emergency codes/behavioral situations.

Collaborates with team members to create, review, disseminate, and ensure follow through with behavior plans

Provides in-services to staff; develops, delivers and evaluates staff education on topics including but not limited to diagnoses and conditions of interest, therapeutic communication and behavior management

  • Works with team to develop a schedule/routine that fosters trust and a sense of being in a safe environment. Displays an understanding of the developmental needs of the patient when planning and implementing treatment.

Maintains all aspects of a therapeutic milieu, which will facilitate the patient s potential growth and change.

Utilizes patient care standards in clinical practice

Assists psychology and other disciplines with group therapy.

Documents pertinent information regarding patient s response to treatment and progression toward goals in EMR. Selects, plans, evaluates and documents care based on this assessment. Assesses, intervenes and documents appropriately to meet patient s health, educational, psychosocial and discharge planning needs, including patient and family teaching.

Assessments, treatment and patient care responsibilities are delivered with the knowledge of patient growth and development and are appropriate to the ages and cognitive ability of the patients served.

Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety, environmental, and infection control standards. Assesses gaps in policies and procedures, and create necessary policies and procedures to fulfill these gaps.

Maintains family centered care approach. Recognizes and respects patient/family rights in a culturally and sensitive environment.
