Job Description Qualifications -- A minimum of a bachelor---s degree in scientific or engineering field -- 2 years of experience in QA/QC or closely related field -- Must be able to work independently -- Able to communicate with external suppliers/vendor and work with quality, purchasing, and manufacturing department Summary The Supplier Quality Specialist will initiate and maintain quality oversight of suppliers, vendors & manufacturers of ingredients. The position reports to Senior QA Manager and will support manufacturing, purchasing, and quality team to ensure all quality standard of raw material and finish products are met. Responsibilities: -- Manage vendor approval process working closely with purchasing department -- Maintain annual review of supplier approval -- Provide reports, data analysis, and ensure flow of communications between quality, manufacturing, purchasing, and external supplier following up on and resolving issues that arise -- Ensure suppliers are providing quality products by monitoring materials for defects -- Monitor supplier performance and provide risk disposition -- Review company SOPs and conduct internal quality audits as well as external audits on supplier/manufacture -- Assist setting material specifications to resolve manufacturing and quality issues -- Review new ingredients/components with product development and supplier to ensure it will meet manufacturing and quality standard -- Review and approve corrective and preventive actions for any exceptions from suppliers -- Handle complaints investigations -- Take on project work as needed to maintain third party certifications and work with process improvement teams as needed -- Participate and support managers in third party and FDA audits
