Our client is a small start-up looking for a highly motivated scientist for the role of Research Scientist. The position will be based in New Brunswick, New Jersey, and will directly report to the Chief Scientific Officer.
Practical, 'out-of-the-box' thinking is required. This position will require significant independent thinking and functioning. The successful candidate must be highly organized, self-motivated, and able to thrive in a fast-paced dynamic biotech environment where flexibility, tolerability to rapid change, and drive to make a significant impact, are essential. Research Responsibilities

• Design, set up, and run cell biological and immunological projects using phage display, peptide, antibody screens, or other techniques.
• Analyze, graph, and report results. The ability to write lucidly is necessary.
• Generate technical reports, manuscripts, abstracts, presentations, and other forms of deliverables as required.
• Involvement in genome sequence analysis, assembly, and annotations leveraging information and knowledge creation from diverse genomics datasets and computational tools (e.g., BLAST, MEME/MAST, etc.).
• Sequence related analysis, next-generation sequence data analysis (NGS)
• Gene expression analysis, RNA-seq, microarray, proteomics
• Bioinformatics/computational analysis a plus Requirements
  • MS in immunology, biochemistry, cell biology or molecular biology,
  • 10+ years of industry or academic experience in a laboratory setting
  • 10+ years of experience with cell biological and immunological techniques and assays
  • 10+ years of technical experience with mammalian cell culture and molecular biology techniques as it relates to this job description
  • 10+ years with general laboratory techniques including PAGE, Western blots, PCR
  • Sequence related analysis, next-generation sequence data analysis (NGS)
  • Gene expression analysis, RNA-seq, microarray, proteomics
  • Bioinformatics/computational analysis
  • Flow cytometry
