---Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Supervising Accountant (Decision Support) in Finance at Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey.The primary purpose of the Supervising Accountant is to supervise the day-to-day functions of the Decision Support section which is responsible for developing business plans, forecasting, market analyses, benchmarking and financial evaluation of clinical as well as research programs. The section also develops contract budgets for services billed to contracts (e.g., Enhanced Cancer Services, Infusion, etc.). Other responsibilities include financial reporting as well as fiscal control over personnel transactions and contract costs for assigned business segments.Among the key duties of this position are the following: Creates effective work plans and works closely with staff by supervising and addressing their training needs in order to achieve competency of work performance and understanding of assigned functions. Supervises day-to-day activities relating to business plans, forecasting, market analyses, benchmarking and financial evaluation of clinical as well as research programs. Develops annual budget for the Enhanced Cancer Services and other contracts with RWJUH . Supervises monthly billings for physician services, personnel leases and space rents on assigned contracts. Keeps track of clinical faculty and staff FTE for budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting purposes. Reviews of ROCs and other personnel forms and contract costs for budget compliance and appropriate expense coding. Supervises financial administrative support to Surgical Oncology division. Includes submission of weekly surgical reports to each surgeon to make sure all services are billed, assists in looking into unbilled services. Maintains processes to collect productivity and staffing data for CINJ leadership, RHG dashboard and other internal and external users. Minimum Education and Experience Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related field. Four (4) years of responsible experience in financial accounting, budgeting, forecasting, administration and control. Equivalent education, experience and/or training may be substituted forthe degree requirement. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities The ability to supervise in a unionized environment. Maintaining confidentiality. Must be computer literate with proficiency and working knowledge of financial database systems and reporting tools such as MicrosoftExcel, Word, Access and PowerPoint. Effective oral and written communication skills. Outstanding human relations and leadership skills, and the ability to function in a team environment.
