Job Summary:The Histology Supervisor manages the daily operations and provides leadership within the clinical Histology section of the Laboratory. Essential Functions:

• Staff hiring, training, competency, evaluation and scheduling
• Specimen receipt, processing and tracking
• Quality Assurance including ensuring appropriate processing, handling and testing of all patient samples
• Works to meet and exceed the set and expected turnaround times
• Maintains overall safety of the Histology Laboratory
• Ensures constant compliance and regulatory and inspection readiness
• Works collaboratively with the Anatomic Pathology Manager and Administrative Director to manage all aspects of the department including Human Resources, Finance and Budget, and future planning and preparation
• Communicates effectively with all parties including immediate staff, colleagues, physicians, pathologists, patients/visitors and outside vendors
• Promotes a positive attitude and maintains professionalism throughout the department and hospitalJob Requirements:
  • Associates Degree in a related Scientific field or equivalent years of experience is required
  • Minimum of 5 years of Histology experience
