Job Description:
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Senior
Grants Administrator for the Child Health Institute of New Jersey (
CHINJ ) within Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.The Senior Grants
Administrator will have responsibilities for pre-award and
post-award administration of grants, contracts, and other
restricted funds for the Center for Advancing Research & Evaluation
for Patient-Centered Care ( CARE -PC), the Child Health Institute
of New Jersey ( CHINJ ) and the RWJMS Institute for Neurological
Therapeutics ( RINTS ). This position will also ensure sponsored
research activities are in compliance with the policies and
procedures of Rutgers University and federal, state, foundation,
corporate and other agencies.Among the key duties of this position
are the following: Coordinates the submission of grant and contract
proposals to federal, state, foundation, corporate, and other
sponsors. Provides budget status reports, detailed transaction
reports, projections, and other reports to the Institute Directors,
Principal Investigators, and the Business Administrator. Reviews
and approves MarketPlace requisitions and Expense Reports charged
to restricted and unrestricted accounts in the CARE -PC, CHINJ ,
and RINTS . Closely monitors salaries charged to both restricted
and unrestricted accounts. Closely monitors Project Account
balances for restricted funds (grants, contracts, and gift
accounts) to avoid deficits. Assists Investigators with the Effort
Compensation Certification and Reporting ( ECRT ) process ensuring
that required information is accurate for investigator signature.
Assists with the preparation of the annual budget for the CARE -PC,
CHINJ , and RINTS . Minimum Education and Experience Master's
Degree in Business Administration, Health Administration or related
field plus six (6) years of related experience involving research
and sponsored programs administration, ideally in an academic
environment. Equivalent education, experience and/or training may
be substituted for the degree requirement.Required Knowledge,
Skills, and Abilities Knowledge and expertise of Federal and State
agency regulations, policies, procedures and laws applicable to
sponsored programs activities. Understanding of proposal
development, finding funding, Institutional Review Board
regulations and other grant related activities. Demonstrated strong
service orientation. Knowledge of computer programs, including MS
Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Adobe Acrobat. Outstanding human
relations and leadership skills and the ability to function in a
