A leading University in New Brunswick is seeking an ASL Program Coordinator to support their Disability Services Department. This is a 6 months temporary role with a possible extension depending on the need. Job details are below. Title: Program Coordinator Location: Hybrid role 2-3 days onsite in New Brunswick (335 George Street) Hours: Monday through Friday, 8:30 - 5:00 pm (40 hrs per week) Duration: 6 months with possible extension Pay rate: $25 - $27/hr depending on experience Duties: The primary role of the Program Coordinator will be to coordinate American Sign Language (ASL), Communication Access Realtime Translation (CART), and captioning of course materials for students approved for accommodation. Duties will include, but not be limited to working with students who are Deaf, hard of hearing, or in need of communication access; determining appropriate accommodations for their courses; coordinating services for all of their courses, meetings, or events; managing all communications with vendors, and tracking vendor invoices to ensure appropriate billing. Training will be provided. Required skills: American Sign Language (ASL), highly preferred knowledge of Deaf Culture. MS Office Suite Time Management Skills and tracking/documentation. Covid vaccination is required. Must have compassion to work with people hard of hearing. Must be dependable and reliable.
