We're seeking a future team member in the role Data Center Senior Engineer will be responsible for the data center infrastructure projects and day-to-day activities of the Data Center Services (DCS) group. The DCS team is responsible for the planning, installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and maintenance of all server hardware/devices. The position requires a professional with proven experience and success in managing the full life cycle of data center infrastructure projects from planning customer server installations, cabling, and designing structured cable plant systems. This individual will provide excellent customer service and report progress regularly. They will also assist the DCS team with troubleshooting server/network/storage systems. The work environment is fast paced and deadline-oriented where adaptability is key to our success as a team, thus having depth knowledge of working large-scale data center environments is necessary. This role is in Somerset, NJ/onsite - third shift(12am-8am).

We're seeking a future team member in the role of Data Center Services (Hardware Operations) to join our Technology Production Services (TPS) team. This role is located in Somerset NJ, onsite.

In this role, you'll make an impact in the following ways:

  • Ability to manage and delivery small to mid-size projects from various internal customers of competing priorities and work them through to an effective resolution.
  • Responsible for all data center related hardware installations/repairs, configurations, troubleshooting (Intel/Linux/Network/Mainframe), upgrades (firmware) and optimization.
  • Hands on experience with x86 architecture-based systems.
  • Strong understanding of HP & Cisco standalone servers, enclosures, & blades.
  • Experience with Data Center space planning, server cabinet layout, and cabling. Strong understanding of structured cable design (fiber/copper).
  • Hands on experience with x86 architecture-based systems (strong intel background)
  • Full understanding data center cabling standards including fiber optics.
  • Facilities hands-on provisioning (installing racks, setting up power, installing Ethernet, fiber and console cabling, terminate copper, label, remote power and KVM).
    To be successful in this role, we're seeking the following:
    • BS or BA in technical field or commensurate experience.
    • 4+ years of technical data Center experience
    • Strong working knowledge of physical IT infrastructures (e.g. Servers, SANs, Networking, etc.)
    • Excellent hardware troubleshooting skills and be comfortable working in a fast-paced Data Center environment.

        BNY Mellon assesses market data to ensure a competitive compensation package for our employees. The base salary for this position is expected to be between $54,000 and $106,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including as to experience and market location, and is only part of the BNYM total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefit programs.
        This position is at-will and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, change in geographic location, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
