The Performance Improvement (PI) Coordinator is responsible for developing, implementing and evaluating the effectivess of Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital (RWJUH) s performance improvement and patient safety program.
This includes but is not limited to the following:
Supports the performance improvement process by identifying trends, prioritizing and recommending improvements, and playing a supportive role in implementation of these recommendations. Coordinates hospital wide Performance Improvement activities related to strategic initiatives, operational excellence, and departmental goals Plays in integral role in patient safety activities through active monitoring of reported events, analysis of events via root cause or apparent cause analysis and providing shared learning across the organization. Assists assigned departments with development of performance improvement indictors and analyzes the data collected. Supports medical peer review activities inclusive of OPPE, as needed. Responsible for general oversight and maintenance of the organization s quality indicators as well as scorecards/dashboards. Responsible for providing consultative services for staff & physicians toward meeting standards of patient safety, accreditation, performance improvement, and organizational compliance. This includes, but is not limited to providing education to self and others, as well as the latest quality & patient safety indicators in health care. Provides ongoing education regarding quality, patient safety, regulatory and performance improvement initiatives at new employee and physicians orientation Is knowledgeable of the requirements of national quality and patient safety initiatives and utilizes databases to provide summary reports as needed, Assists the quality data abstractors in ensuring accurate data for core measures, Possesses strong project management skills; completing projects in an organized and timely manner with the ability to bring people together to achieve an outcome. Pursues ongoing professional growth and development opportunities. Other duties as assigned.
3 years of hospital clinical experience required.
Bachelor's degree in a health care field required.
Minimum of 1 year of experience in quality, patient safeyt, or regulatory affairs required.
CPHQ, CPPS, or other certification preferred. If candidate does not have national certificatoin; agrees to pursue completion wihtin one year of hire.
