Metrology & Calibrations TechnicianJob ID93570Posted03-Nov-2022Service lineGWS SegmentRole typeFull-timeAreas of InterestEngineering/MaintenanceLocation(s)Branchburg New Jersey United States of AmericaRESPONSIBILITIESThe purpose of this position is to calibrate and adjust equipment in accordance with the customer and requirements.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESPerforms calibrations and adjustments for numerous calibration devices; typically in the temperature, humidity, pressure, physical dimensional, torque, force and electrical disciplines.Maintains proper documentation, which includes but is not limited to the metrology database, calibration certificates, equipment history forms, time sheets and automated calibration software.Conducts self-study to improve and maintain technical proficiency in calibration theory, methods and equipment.Communicates to customers as it relates to the progress of the testing, repair and/or service(s).Accompanies Senior Metrology to customer locations and calibrate equipment on-site.Performs other duties as assigned.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESNo formal supervisory responsibilities in this position.#INDSJQUALIFICATIONSTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Associates Degree (AA/AS) in scientific field of study preferred or equivalent related work experience. Minimum of two year of related experience and/or training.Previous work experience in instrumentation and control, installing, calibrating, maintaining and repairing equipment or related equivalent.CERTIFICATES and/or LICENSESNoneCOMMUNICATION SKILLSAbility to comprehend and interpret instructions, short correspondence, and memos and ask clarifying questions to ensure understanding. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from clients, co-workers, and/or supervisor. Ability to effectively present information to an internal department and/or large groups of employees.FINANCIAL KNOWLEDGERequires basic knowledge of financial terms and principles. Ability to calculate simple figures such as percentages.REASONING ABILITYAbility to understand and carry out general instructions in standard situations. Ability to solve problems in standard situations. Requires basic analytical skills.OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIESIntermediate skills with Desktop publishing, Microsoft Office Suite and Online Help.Ability to comprehend and interpret instructions, short correspondence, and memos and ask clarifying questions to ensure understanding.
