Position Summary:

Under the general guidance of Executive Director, Biologics Global Supply Planning, accountable for development and ongoing effective and efficient execution of the following as assigned:

This role will lead the BMS biologics internal drug product site supply chain teams (2 sites), responsible for site planning, scheduling and inventory management activities, representing Global Supply Planning across various site and operations leadership forums (site GM's, site LT, operations VPs).

Biologics Site Supply Planning Leadership with the following specific process elements:

Global Leadership for Biologics DP Network:

  • Provide leadership and strategic direction in the areas of planning, scheduling, inventory control and logistics for all BMS internal biologics drug product sites (Manati, Phoenix).
  • Single point of contact for the Bio GSP team sitting on Global Biologics Sterile/DP Operations extended leadership team
  • Ensures capability and best practice developments consistently applied across the DP network of sites
  • Develops and communicates the Global Supply Chain(GSC) DP Strategy, aligning with DP sites and GPS strategies. Development of site-specific Supply Chain goals and aligns with other key functions. Provide leadership and guidance to the Bio DP network with the main goals of achieving customer service levels while optimizing BMS end-to-end supply chains
  • Assures compliance with policies, procedures, directives, manuals and work instructions on matters related to Supply Chain Management, transportation, safety, environmental, customs and trade compliance across DP sites.
  • Aligns operational strategy with business strategy; management of assets, inventory, space and resources to improve customer service and delivery performance in line with corporate objectives; implementation of best practices. Ensures master data maintenance process is properly performed across DP sites.
  • Serves as a designee to Bio OPU LT
  • Leading, managing and developing the assigned team of employees
  • Support the Biologics Integrated Planning Process / Teams, ensuring appropriate assumptions / inputs on behalf of the DP sites into this process, including inventory planning, budget volume planning, master supply plan management, escalated issue management.
  • Ensure site planning inputs / delivery into critical site management forums, including site S&OP, site business reviews, etc.
  • Support implementation, sustainability, and continuous improvement of the Biologic Network Supply Planning operating model
  • In conjunction with the rest of the GSC functional teams and GPS partners, ensure training documentation, policies and procedures are in place and meet compliance requirements. Additional Duties and Responsibilities:
    • Develop the right functional organization structure and staffing plan to meet the functional, GPS and BMS objectives of cost, service and quality. Ensure the right person (talent) is doing the right work (key objectives) at the right time (priorities).
    • Communicate decisions and supply impacts to all stakeholders, escalation and prioritization of supply responses around all issues and opportunities impacting customer service to stakeholder
    • Provide input to the Global Supply Review process to incorporate major supply issues to the Network plan and any major deviations to the budget and/or previous plan.
    • Actively participate in critical Global supply planning initiatives, representing function as an SME
    • Develop strong relationships inside and outside the organization including Business Insights & Analytics, site planners, site supply chain leads, SCPL's and Long Range Planning, Finance, Quality and Regulatory.
    • Demonstrate cultural sensitivity and an understanding of the global practices where business is conducted
    • In conjunction with the rest of the GSC functional teams and GPS partners, ensure policies and procedures are in place which meet compliance requirements
    • Active participant in prioritization, initiatives oversight, continuous improvement, and change leader
    • Partner with Bio GSP LT to align on both mid and long term planning views for the Drug Product Network.
    • Partner with Exec. Dir. Biologics Supply Planning and Bio GSP LT to present DP supply events / scenario outcomes to Executive level stakeholders and drive decision making process.
    • Ensure successful onboarding, succession path design, capability enhancements of the DP Site Supply Planning Team.
    • Active participant in prioritization, initiative oversight, continuous improvement, and change leader.
    • Escalate all major supply constraints and propose alternatives to the respective forums for rapid decision and execution Qualifications & Experience:
      • B.S. or BA in supply chain management, science and/or engineering (biotechnology, engineering or related sciences). M.B.A or advanced degree, diploma or certification in Supply Chain Management (e.g., APICS or CSCP certification) strongly preferred
      • Required 10+ years of supply chain management and planning experience for a reputed, global or multi-plant Biotech, Pharmaceutical or Consumer Product company utilizing world class supply chain planning and execution processes
      • Demonstrated experience in site operations / supply chain management
      • Demonstrated competence interacting with and influencing senior business leaders
      • Demonstrated experience managing teams
      • Strong analytical, communication, critical thinking and problem-solving skills required. Demonstrated ability to frame and build concepts and ideas and develop and execute strategic plans as required
      • Demonstrated business acumen and ability to organize and present information to cross-functional audiences and senior leaders
      • Good understanding and exposure to current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and other regulatory requirements Personal Competencies Desired/Required:
        • Demonstrated leadership capabilities, especially in building highly effective, world class, global teams
        • Ability to work in a matrix environment and build strong relationships by being transparent, reliable, and delivering on commitments.
        • Demonstrated capability in implementing challenging goals, objectives and practices in a complex and ambiguous environment

        • Certification or exposure to Operational Excellence/Continuous Improvement concepts desirable.
        • Demonstrated proficiency in competency areas of Strategic Agility, Organizational Agility, Business Acumen, Process Design and Management, Organization Change Management and Process Effectiveness - in globally diverse, rapidly changing cross-cultural environment
        • Strong ability in negotiating and influencing without authority in complex, high impact situations

        • Strong strategic and analytical thinking, problem solving and rapid decision making skills
        • Strong presentation and communication skills both, oral and written
        • Developed ability to create and foster a team-based environment to establish and maintain a cooperative relationship with individuals contacted during the course of work
